Itinerary

23 Oct 2013 - Day 1: Mumbai - Colombo - Pinnawala - Dambulla
Assemble at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (Mumbai International Airport) to board flight to Colombo. Arrive at Colombo. After completion of immigration formalities, we will proceed to visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a home to the Retired and Orphaned Elephants. Arrive Dambulla in the evening. Overnight stay at Hotel in Dambulla.

24 Oct 2013 - Day 2: Dambulla - Sigiriya - Matale - Kandy
Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress - Lion rock and Frescoes of the Heavenly Maidens at Sigiriya. Later, visit the Dambulla Rock Temple - The ancient caves and the tallest Buddha statue. Proceed to Kandy via Matale to visit a famous Spice Garden. Arrival at Kandy in the evening. Overnight stay at Hotel in Kandy.

Dambulla is sited on a gigantic rock which towers more than 160m above the surrounding land. The Rock is more the 1.5km around its base and summit is at 550km. The caves were the refuge of King Walagamba (Vattagamini Abhaya).When he was exile for 14 years. When he return to the throne at Anuradapura in the 1st century BC, he had magnificent rock temple built at Dabulla. The site has being repaired and repainted several times in the 11th, 12th and 18th centuries.

25 Oct 2013 - Day 3: Kandy - Peradeniya - Kandy
Visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens followed by a visit to Tea Factory, Kandy Lake, Temple of the Tooth Relic, Kandy Town, Bazaar, Arts and Crafts centre, Gems museum and Lapidary. Enjoy the Traditional Sri Lankan Dance show in the evening. Overnight stay at Hotel in Kandy.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess' hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka's most prized possession.

26 Oct 2013 - Day 4: Kandy - Hakgala - Nuwara Eliya
Proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En-route Hakgala & visit the Anjaneear (Hanuman) temple of Ramayana Trail in Ramboda, followed by a visit to tea factory. Visit the Sita Amman Temple - according to tradition, the site is associated with Sita of the Ramayana epic. Ancient statues of Rama and Sita can be seen on a side of the temple. Later visit the Hakgala Botanical Gardens (Ashok Vatika) - one of the pleasure gardens of King Ravana. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel at Nuwara Eliya.

Royal Botanical Gardens - 147 acres in extent: started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the King’s of Kandy. There are more than 5000 species of tree and plants. Some and endemic as well as flora from the tropical world. Spice garden and Orchid House are popular with Tourists.

27 Oct 2013 - Day 5: Nuwara Eliya - Bentota
Proceed to Bentota. Enjoy the Boat Ride in Bentota. Overnight stay at Hotel in Bentota.

28 Oct 2013 - Day 6: Bentota - Kelaniya - Colombo
Proceed to Kelaniya. Visit the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya, a famous Buddha temple built in the 3rd century B.C. Also visit a shrine dedicated to Vibushana, king Ravana's brother, who allied with Rama in the struggle to rescue Sita.

City tour of Colombo - A drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street – the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and Independence Square. Overnight stay at the hotel in Colombo.

29 Oct 2013 - Day 7: Colombo - Mumbai
Proceed to Colombo International Airport to board flight back to Mumbai.(Breakfast)

Terms and Conditions:
Check-in and check-out timings of the hotels should be followed. Early check-in or a late checkout is not guaranteed and is only on request.

Passengers are requested to take care of their belongings.

We have a right to change the itinerary as per the situation without any prior notice.

80% of the total tour cost should be paid at the time of booking. Remaining 20% should be paid before 10 days before the departure.

We are not liable for damages for any delay or default in performance during the term hereof if such delay or default is caused by conditions beyond its control, including, but not limited to, acts of God, Government restrictions, continuing domestic or international problems such as wars or insurrections, strikes, fires, floods, terrorist attacks, work stoppages and embargoes.

Any disputes arising in respect of the tour shall be subject to Mumbai Jurisdiction.
